He was my partner.
We started a theater company, had no money, borrowed everything, and were literally stealing pencils from the mailroom at night so we could have a theater company.

Just to clarify, that was the mail room.

Literally, like it could not have been more out of some like fabulous Teddy Z. I was in the mailroom with a tie and people who were like lawyers and doctors and dancers, male dancers, a lot of male dancers in the mailroom.
I just wanted to meet more guys that I wasn't meeting in the mailroom.

Glitter bomb.
So now I started a theater company because out here in Los Angeles, L.A., because I wanted to be a director, but I didn't have and nobody wanted to see my Bud's chicken commercial.
And so I didn't have a reel.
And I thought, well, if I put on plays, I think everybody in L.A.
loves the theater.
They'll all race out and see it and give me a chance.
That was about 10 years of a lot of theater.
But I was doing development for Bette Midler, doing development for Gene Wilder, and yeah, Bette Midler, yeah.
For a hetero guy, my story is rather unique.
And then I was working for Robert Davi.
