We applied for a few jobs and didn't get them and thought it was all going to fall through.
But then we both received jobs at an international school in
in Moshi in Tanzania, which is right on the slopes of Kilimanjaro.
Mark is a maths teacher and me is the school counsellor and as a boarding parent.
So we're going to live on site with 30 teenage girls with us.
Yeah, it was magic.
It was such a different world.
We landed there late one night and just driving along and there's donkeys on the road and there's people carrying huge piles of things on their heads and every sight was just extraordinary.
But it was so magic and we just settled into our life there.
at the school, living on campus, and with a four-year-old and a one-year-old and 30 teenagers who lived attached to our house.
And it was so extraordinarily different to our life, but it was magic.
Yep.
So from our backyard, we could see Mount Kilimanjaro from a certain spot.
If we went there on a clear day, we could see it.
And it is just the most majestic view.
The mountain is so hard to describe in words, but it's absolutely incredible.
And so the school campus was amazing.
We lived there.
We could just hang out in the backyard looking at that mountain.
And we pretty quickly settled into life in Tanzania.
