Now his tumour had basically, it was everywhere.
It was all over his brain.
And his midline of his brain was being pushed from the left side to the right side.
So it was intense pain.
It was very touch and go.

So we ended up getting medevaced back to Australia and we actually arrived back on Damien's birthday and there was a series of unfortunate events and he was being actively palliated without any conversation with me.
They gave him fentanyl because he was very uncomfortable, but obviously it put him into a catatonic state.
And so from that, when they were doing his neurological tests and stuff, they said, there's nothing we can do.
This was all without a conversation.
I went and had a lie down for half an hour.
I mean, ironically, it's always when you leave the room that things happen.
And so I was like kicking myself that I wasn't there for it.
