So it was a nice merging of East and West back then.
A guy called Ferdinand Verbiest.
It was Qing Dynasty and he invented a car which was steam powered with coal powering it, which is pretty amazing.
Didn't even really have steam powered stuff then.
I see what you're doing because of the name.
It was 65 centimetres long and it was actually a toy for the emperor.
But it still works.
If you're desperate, you can squeeze into a 65 centimetre.
It didn't say how fast it went, but it could go for an hour before it needed more coal.
And he's interesting because he's the only Westerner ever to have received an honorary name after death in China.
So if you've done something impressive in China, the emperor would give you a name after you died.
