He eventually did add some details to the story.
He said that they went out to eat and they made it back to John's house by 8.30 p.m.
Nathan said that instead of just dropping him off, they both went inside.
Then they chatted for a few minutes.
John got a phone call.
He had to take that phone call, so Nathan left.
They had already spent the evening together, so there was no point in staying around any longer.
And according to him, that was the last time that he saw his grandfather.
He even claimed he had an alibi, although, you know, that alibi is a little rocky at best.
Apparently, Nathan then had met up with his mom Linda that morning to go on a fishing trip, but he had gotten lost for about an hour.
