Taraji Henson was our commencement speaker the year I received my degree. Taraji and I were classmates in the College of Fine Arts back when I was in school. Denise Saunders, who was the associate dean of the College of Fine Arts, was instrumental in helping me get back into school. She and I were classmates when I was at Howard University.
