He's smaller, but he's poised.
Really tough to push off pucks again as well.
So with him and Ryan Lynn, who's 5'11", but he's stockier definitely in the lower body, he is tough to push off pucks again.
He's well-balanced.
He has a good shot.
He walks the blue line well.
Xavier Villeneuve is also one of those 5'11 defensemen that really walks the blue line well too and could create a lot of chances for his team in scoring.
The scoring ability and his shot and the playmaking and the vision is just fantastic as well.
Brian, he also plays bigger than he is too.
So I think that the size does matter in terms of if a player is sub six feet, but he plays it like he plays sub six feet.
But if you're sub six feet and you play bigger than you are, then I don't think it's going to matter because like, you know, Conor Bernard's 5'10".
There's Zach Benson, Marco Rossi.
There's a ton of these smaller guys that, and Logan Stankoven, that have proved that they can
be sustainable into the NHL as the NHL gets more skilled, faster, and smaller.
So I think it's just a change in the tides a little bit.
And we're seeing what Roman Kancaroff also did in the KHL, who's a Blackhawks prospect.
He's 5'9", but he really lit it up in the KHL and was the leading scorer this year at 21.
So I think that the 5'11 guys that play bigger than they are, and you have the 6'4", 6'5", forwards in some cases that play like they're 5'11".
So in terms of does smaller players matter or does size matter, I think it matters if you do play smaller than you are and you are sub-6 feet because that's going to be a huge difference in terms of your playing style.
But if you are playing bigger than you are and you're sub-5'11", then I think it's going to help you.
