They don't have those kinds of players.
They've got a couple of guys that might be out of position.
So realistically, look, they're a younger-ish team that's still trying to find their way.
They have a first-year manager with this club, obviously, not a first-year manager overall.
Derek Shelton has a ton of experience.
But I think they're still trying to figure out who they are and play into that.
I don't think so, just because I think from a pitching standpoint, I think they have a decent chance to have a starting five rotation that can go out there and compete night in and night out at the big league level.
Defensively, I still think there are some holes there.
haven't been able to fill appropriately you know obviously busted in center field is fantastic I mean that guy can do anything offensively defensively it doesn't really matter you know outside of that Ryan Jeffers has been really good behind the plate defensively and offensively I like him too you know but I think there's there's other places you look around that the diamond and and
guys that haven't played everyday outfield, haven't played everyday shortstop, haven't played everyday first base, and they're trying to put them there and have them play a little bit more often.
And I think that's caused some issues for them.
When I was there with them for about a nine-game stretch, it seemed like they were finding ways to lose games rather than finding ways to win games, particularly for the most part because they weren't coming through in clutch spots offensively and because their defense was letting them down.
So I don't think you can really classify them as either of those right now.
Doesn't mean that they can't be competitive in some level, but I certainly don't think that they are or, you know, within a window right now of really competing at a, you know, a playoff spot this year.
He's got a good one right now.
It's got a lot of movement to it.
I would say, to be honest with you, look, he's not going to overpower you with his fastball.
That said, the guy is 6'9", and he is coming at you with 7 feet of extension, essentially.
And so even though it's only 91, 92 miles an hour,
Not someone you're going to necessarily see great and turn on a 91 mile an hour fastball the way you would somebody else.
