Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
All right, welcome back to Blair and Barker, brought to you by Capital One, Capital One, giving Canadians credit for 30 years. Joe Siddle will join us from Minneapolis or St. Paul, the Twin Cities. That's it. Later on in the show. 740 first pitch. That's what I heard. That's right. Young Gosselin against Bailey over. Yep. And again, I'm plugging this. Want to do you a solid?
Barker will be doing Blue Jay Central tonight.
Yeah.
Yeah. There you go. He'll be on the air at 7 o'clock.
Wow.
On Blue Jay Central.
Thanks, Jeff. Thanks, Jeff.
There you go.
Yeah, there it is. That's about all I need. That's it, huh?

Chapter 2: What is the identity of the 2026 Minnesota Twins?
Anthony, we appreciate you joining us. Thanks so much. Thanks a lot.
Of course, guys. Thanks for having me.
Anthony Recker is the Twins analyst. He's also an MLB network analyst. And yeah, the Padres have... The Padres have some players still. I mean, they've got some big names. I wanted to mention this, by the way, and we should have when Passon was on, but it's my fault. Brandon Woodruff made the start for the Milwaukee Brewers today. He left the game after facing six hitters.
And his velocity, which had been 92.5 miles an hour, was down to 85.4. Whoa. And had maxed out at 86.9. So the Brewers took him out of the game. And again, he's... You know the history of injuries with Brandon Woodruff. But that whole central division is going to be interesting. And I think the central division is going to come, at the end of the day, it's going to come down to health probably.
Because I think there are four teams that are kind of really close. Three teams. that are kind of really close. I like Cincinnati. I like Sal Stewart a lot. There's a lot going on with that team. The Cubs are always going to be... They're always going to be good in the Brewers. The Brewers are the Rays. Count them out if you want.
They're going to be in the playoff picture right up until the very end. But that is a big setback for them.
Yeah, it is amazing how much better the National League is this year than the American League is. Like, just teams are better. Like, you know, for whatever reason, the American League is just ā It's very flat. Like, there's a bunch of teams that you thought were going to be really good that are not. Yeah. That are having a real tough time.
It's not all injuries. You know, again, that's why I get back to, in the case of the Jays, it's injuries. But, you know, other teams, yeah, now the Red Sox, you can make a case with no crochet and no Sonny Gray, but that doesn't explain why that lineup looks as bad as it does. I'm with Passant. I have to admit. I really feel now as if I overlook the Red Sox lack of power.
Like that, that is, that is scary bad for that ballpark. That is scary bad. And I didn't, maybe I put too much faith in Trevor story and, and, and, or in, in Roman Anthony and Trevor story for that matter. But, uh, that's the weakest Red Sox lineup I've seen in, in, in some time. I was thinking about that when I was at the park the other night, it's like, There's just nothing there.

Chapter 3: How is Bailey Ober's changeup impacting his performance?
What? Giving Canadians credit for 30 years.
Oh, you said it twice. No, I didn't say this is Blair and Barker. Welcome back to Blair and Barker.
Yeah, it's Blair and Barker, so welcome back to Blair and Barker. Didn't say it twice. You did. Did not.
You did. It's a good read, though. You're getting better at this. You got to do something. No, I don't get paid to do that.
You do.
No.
You get paid at King's Ranch.
Okay, good. I'll let you answer those questions about Vladdy on the post-game show. That's fine.
And I'll read that little thing for you. That's fine. How's that? That's fine. People know that I'm a Vladdy fan. It's you. I love Vladdy. It's you who's a Vladdy hater. You're a hater. No chance. You're the guy that mentioned that he doesn't have as many home runs as a shortstop. Not me. Fair enough.

Chapter 4: Why have the Padres been a surprise this season?
Five sports. You didn't need to. I didn't have time. You didn't have time.
No.
Elite athlete. You're funny. Nobody called you. You didn't have to call anybody.
You just snapped your fingers.
You just snapped your fingers, and there they are. Yeah. Yeah. Kevin Gossman tonight. Yeah. We talked about this a little bit. Twins have given him some trouble.
I mean, you... You know, it is funny that you've mentioned that twice now.
Because it was the thing. Maybe not last year, but it was the thing.
Well, I know that I've talked to people that are around that that say the same thing you've been saying. They need to stop saying that. Okay. You know, execute your pitches. Don't throw balls down the middle. Don't be predictable. If you don't do those three, if you do two of those three things, you're going to have success. Stop worrying about tipping pitches and come on, man.
It's like, you know, that's the same thing they go to all the time. Well, he got lit up today. He must have been giving something away. Well, go back and look, Sherlock. Maybe those balls were down the middle. Like, stop throwing them down the middle. Stop being predictable. He does that. He's a really good pitcher.
