But...
The social security budget was voted in France last night.
And do I think that more innovative drugs will be funded?
I don't think so.
So maybe I didn't read properly, but I don't think so.
And that's a problem because science has no border.
And a company in Paris, in Milan, in Copenhagen, inventing an amazing product
that can save people's lives.
If at the end of the day, I mean, it would be bad, let's put it this way, as citizens of Europe, that this product can't be administered to European patients and ends up being administered to US patients because the ultimate pharma buyer of that company says, hold on, you know, I'm not going to bother.
with a country that represents, let's say, 2% of my total market.
And I'm going to insist just on developing the US market very well.
As a citizen, I just don't like the sound of this.
And I hope that we manage to convince all these governments that innovation, there's a price for innovation.
And ultimately, in fact, you may save a lot of money on the back end,
Because people won't be in hospitals if you treat, I don't know, heart failure and you have patients that are at home, you know, sorted and not in hospitals.
Back to what I was saying about where the costs are in the system.
It's in the hospital treating patients.
So that's where, you know, Europe is great on the science and has amazing science, but it needs to...
figure out how to go the full Monty to, all right, but this science ultimately needs to also be available to Europeans.
And that's the only place where I'm not that optimistic and think that we're going to have a lot of convincing to do.
