So it's like, if you don't want him in that situation, I don't know what situation you want him in.

But he's on this team, and he has good stuff, and he can strike dudes out.

So clearly he belongs in the bullpen and should not be DFA'd.

Anyone who's saying Jeff Hoffman should be DFA'd is just making... Like, if the Blue Jays DFA Jeff Hoffman tomorrow, I would criticize that move heavily.

And I would be completely against that move.

So like I'm somewhere in the middle as I am on all things, because when you're just kind of just kind of level headed about stuff.

Yeah, no, but this has been suggested.

So when you just kind of level headed about stuff, I think it's pretty unsatisfying for consumers.

I merely present as a basis of fact that Jeff Hoffman's location plus this year.

Uh, so as everybody's eyes roll out the back of their heads, uh, location plus is a metric on fan graphs that, um,

essentially evaluates a pitcher's ability to place their pitches in ideal locations.

And this takes into account like context, like how pitch locations change depending on the count, right?

Like there's a different pitch location that makes sense in an 0-2 count versus a 2-0 count.

count this doesn't include stuff which Jeff Hoffman stuff is grades out as well above average on stuff plus scales and you know pitch modeling as well his location plus this year is 103 so that is above league average and that is the highest of his career so

Like this is part of what makes it so maddening because I don't disagree.

Those walks that he that you're referring to backbreaking, those kill you.

But like when you look at like something that just objectively looks at how Jeff Hoffman's been locating his pitches, like.

and scales at the league average and is like considering context factors, it's telling us objectively that he has located better than a league average pitcher this year.

And I think that where like a lot of this gets really uncomfortable from an analysis standpoint is I don't have mental performance plus available to me.

And so I can't tell you what's going through his head in these times where it's spiraling and why all of a sudden he hits a batter or he walks a guy or like why these meltdowns go so far out of control.
