But like when you look at like something that just objectively looks at how Jeff Hoffman's been locating his pitches, like.

and scales at the league average and is like considering context factors, it's telling us objectively that he has located better than a league average pitcher this year.

And I think that where like a lot of this gets really uncomfortable from an analysis standpoint is I don't have mental performance plus available to me.

And so I can't tell you what's going through his head in these times where it's spiraling and why all of a sudden he hits a batter or he walks a guy or like why these meltdowns go so far out of control.

I think it's fair to speculate if there is something to do with mental performance, but that's pure speculation because we just can't know necessarily.

It's impossible to know.

And even people like you and I who get to walk up to Jeff Hoffman in the clubhouse and like ask him questions and talk to him both on and off the record and just get his perspective on things and have him share whatever he's willing to share with us.

Even we don't know because he's only sharing what he's willing to share.

And only Jeff Hoffman knows or, you know, only John Landon is pitching.

Right.

Right.

Yeah.

Right.

And there's so there's just something missing here from the performance that we're seeing and what we're all seeing with our eyes.

And then what like objective evaluation is telling us.

And there's just something missing in the middle there.

And I can't say what that is because I can't tell you what a player is thinking.

I can't tell you what's going through their head.

Obviously, as you said before, there is an element of luck to all of this.

Like there just has to be.
