Like it's not a crazy whiff rate pitch.
Like it's not a crazy put away pitch.
It's just something that he's using to get quick outs.
And he's kind of in a position where he has to get quick outs.
Like he can't be having regular five, six, seven pitch plate appearances because then he's just going to burn through his limited pitch count really quickly.
And the Blue Jays are asking him to like be very efficient and get through three or even four innings.
But this isn't a guy that has even 75 pitches to work with.
So it's really incumbent on him to be fearless in the zone and to use his stuff on the plate and try to get contact and use his defense and make sure that contact is soft and preferably on the ground.
So that's why he's been successful.
I think it is a big question, just like how sustainable, what the Blue Jays are doing right now, essentially operating with a four man rotation.
It's kind of funny how often we've just every season we have this conversation where the Blue Jays go a stretch with a four man rotation and a bullpen day.
And they've turned through the bullpen day, what, three times now?
And it looks like they're probably going to do it a fourth, but it's in a stretch of 17 and 17.
And I think beyond that, it's something like 26 and 27 or 27 and 28.
Like there's just not a lot of off days right now.
When you're relying on your bullpen to cover at least one game and then all you got to throw in is a Dylan Cease early exit or Kevin Gosman just like he's tipping or they just are seeing him well or he doesn't have the good stuff and he's giving up rockets and maybe he's out after three.
Like a lot of things can happen that force you to dive into your bullpen.
