In 1961, less than two years after the annulment, Kitty and one of her co-workers at the bar, Dee Guarneri, were arrested for bookmaking for taking bets on the horse races from patrons at the bar.
Well, and it's like the offense is relatively minor.
I mean, and it resulted in a $50 fine.
I was literally just going to say, is it just a fine?
Despite whatever embarrassment Kitty's parents felt that they got from that, she managed to land on her feet, and she quickly found a new job tending bar at Ev's 11th Hour, a neighborhood bar in Hollis, and moved into a motel room a few blocks away.
So a few years later, Kitty's life would again change dramatically.
