And he just wants to stay relevant.

Most likely, the judge will give him a new lawyer.

He's not constitutionally entitled to a new lawyer.

This is a collateral plea.

This is a collateral post-conviction matter.

You're only entitled to counsel on the actual direct appeal.

And he waived that.

So he didn't have an appeal, he's not entitled to a lawyer.

But oftentimes, judges in cases like this that are complex, they will appoint a lawyer, quite frankly, to make their job easier.

Because it is difficult to communicate with someone who's in custody.

You see these pro se filings, it's just much easier to deal with a lawyer.

So we could probably see that.

I also think what we'll see is we'll see a petition to have this hair tested.

Because right now, you know, he's saying, oh, well, it's exculpatory evidence.

No, it's not.

It's potentially exculpatory evidence, if it even is.

And so he's got the burden in this post-conviction.

Brian Koberger has the burden.

So he's got to get this evidence tested to see if it actually is exculpatory.

And, you know, I don't even see how, if it was someone else's DNA, how that would even be exculpatory.
