And Green says that prosecutors would have had a really hard time proving Shanquilla died from this fight without a medical examiner ruling a homicide.
And that's likely at least part of the reason why the FBI didn't pursue charges.

And they felt totally blindsided by this.
I mean, even blindsided with the differences between the two autopsies.
Like, because the family thinks that both show that Shanquilla died a horrific death.
Both of them show blunt force trauma.
With no other options, in October 2024, Salamandra filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Cabo 6, the FBI, the State Department.
And the suit alleges that Desjardins attacked Shanquela and ultimately caused her death.
Then the whole group tried to cover it up.
But he wasn't there for the piece of it.
Now, her lawsuit claims that the State Department didn't move forward with extraditing Desjardins to Mexico to face prosecution.
And as for the FBI, the Robinsons claim that they withheld records about Shanquilla's case and basically shut the family out of the investigation.
