To make the energy level the exact energy level you want, you have this high energy level, you tune the laser to shoot the beam at that energy level already.
And this is really what these fusion companies are doing.
Previously, they were doing ion injection, which is a laser beam injection into their plasma.
And they realized it doesn't work because the plasma has an electromagnetic field.
So when you try to shoot the ion at it, it reflects out.
It hits the wall and goes, oh, I don't want to go in there.
So you know what they're doing now?
They shoot neutral beams.
They shoot a neutral atom that doesn't have a charge.
So it goes right through the field.
And then it becomes ionized in the plasma.
And then it becomes part of the plasma afterwards.
This is actually what they're doing.
So I'm explaining this because I want people to understand how they actually make fusion work.
Instead of just heating up a random box and being like, hey, heat this box up and hope some fusion occurs in here.
They're doing controlled fusion that they figured out from nuclear weapons using high-powered lasers that automatically have the ions already at the temperatures they want for fusion.
and they insert that into their field reverse configuration high beta regime, which keeps everything nice temperature-wise where they want it, and that's how they get the fusion to occur.
So it's kind of a combination of what Robert Bussard was talking about with inertial confinement fusion, what Bob Greener's been talking about with EVOs, going back to Ken Shoulders.
And then also with now the evolution of this is what we're seeing on the public perspective of helium fusion and tri-alpha energy now doing field reverse configuration with neutral beams.
And they're publishing the papers.
