Charles Chase's resume says that he was the one that convinced the Lockheed Martin CXOs, like chief financial officer, whatever, to invest in a compact fusion reactor.
And they built it, and he says in his resume also...
that it is successful and breathing on its own.
From the public perspective, the project went dark in 2018.
Nobody knows whatever happened to it since then.
And they explicitly stated in their promotional video
Thomas McGuire is in the video.
He's the lead engineer who worked on it.
It says, unlimited loft, unlimited endurance, unlimited range.
That's what fusion power can do for you.
They weren't building a fusion reactor for energy production.
They were building it for propulsion.
They were building a linear reactor, unlike tokamaks.
The tokamak,
The idea was a metal donut is the perfect geometric shape to cause a null point right in the middle.
So they said, okay, for our fusion reactor, let's take our tube and spin it around on itself so it becomes a donut.
This is the advent of the tokamak.
So we have our tokamak reactor.
And instead of that, though, what they realized, if you do that, the downside is all these instabilities form.
The plasma does not want to remain stuck.
