two other teachings from him that I always keep very close.
One that I shared with you, Chase, in the lodge, very hot lodge, was the warrior's heart beats as one.
And as long as one warrior draws breath, it's not over.
And he always said that as long as one warrior's heart draws breath, it's not over.
Whatever situation you're in and to know that all the warriors of all the ancestors living and those who have passed are with us.
And there's many mythic stories, even in Lord of the Rings and other stories where the old warriors come, even in Norse mythology, the warriors of Valhalla, when Odin takes his spear, Gungnir, and he points it at the enemy, the warriors who've been feasting and fighting because they like to fight and they do whatever they do in Valhalla.
been taken there by the valkyries they charge out from their place in the heavenly realms and they know where they're going and what they're here to do and so when people get pessimistic about the world and they in this kind of doomsday mentality i look around and i can look to you three and say ah there's three other warriors whose heart
is still drawing breath.
It's not over.
It's not even close to over.
And there's thousands and millions more and more that are awakening all the time, moving beyond the veils of fear, confronting the path of power.
It's another thing that Don Howard taught is that all people who
walk this path will have to confront the seduction of power to use power for your own benefit at the cost of others to extract rather than to offer and leave the garden more beautiful than where you found it
And those are some of the really deep teachings that I keep, you know, very close to me from Don Howard.
And then he also finally, he said, the way you walk, you walk heart forward and head up.
And the idea was that you lead with your heart, but your eyes are always on something greater.
Your eyes are always acknowledging, you know, the spirit world and Wakam and whatever your word or language is for that.
You know, for me, I'm very comfortable with the word God, but that means a lot of things to a lot of people.
But you lead with your heart forward and your head up.
And that's how I endeavor to walk my walk.
