When his performance dropped, his self-love dropped to such a critical level that ultimately he was reaching for something that would give him a new level and a reason to love himself. Because the self-love wasn't a priori. It wasn't before antecedent causality, before everything. Right. You know, it was something that was externally validated. And that was the core of his psychosis.
And of course, the medical world would just want to say, oh, he was paranoid schizophrenic. Give him medication. Yeah, this is just the thing. But yes, it was that, but it was something much more mythological and something much more like psychological, not pathological.

And now I can look back and just see, oh, I never took the time to turn off that reptilian brain and actually take a moment to pause and be like, okay, I'm good. I'm safe. Let me put this in places and let me create a lifestyle where I'm safe.
