It's encouraging women and girls to just get pregnant, to get their hands on this money.
And number two was the fact that the children born to these unmarried mothers are all going to turn out to be delinquent because they have no fathers in their lives.
So they're obviously all going to be delinquent.
And I remember thinking, that's bollocks, like that's absolute bollocks.
But if you hear a message often enough, you just accept it as being the truth.
And even though rationally I could say, no, that's not true.
It was when my daughter turned 21.
And we had a party for her.
And I remember standing in the place where she was up dancing with her mates on the dance floor.
And I had this like light bulb moment where I suddenly looked at her and went, she's actually the same as all her mates.
She's like no better, no worse.
She's actually the same.
And I realized I had been waiting for her to go off the rails.
Oh, for all those years, subconsciously.
Yeah.
And realizing, no, she's fine.
She's fine.
No, I got married when she was about 10 and then she had two sisters.
And thankfully, because Carla's upbringing, basically, she was like an only child, if you like.
