Here at the rally, there are signs criticizing President Trump, who's doubled down on his rhetoric recently about the U.S.

taking over Greenland.

Signs say, Yankee, go home.

The delegation is mostly Democrats, joined by GOP Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Tom Tillis of North Carolina.

President Trump first mentioned acquiring Greenland during his first term, but has amped up that rhetoric, promising to take control of the island one way or the other.

Murkowski has pushed back.

She's part of a bipartisan group that introduced a bill affirming the U.S.

government's respect for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark, including Greenland.

We have an environment that's increasingly partisan, which is frustrating on a personal level, but also on a legislative front.

There's a steady increase of death threats and threats of political violence against members and their families and their staff.

That takes a toll.

And people feeling like they can't just get stuff done.

And so I think that all of those things combined has made it just a place where people feel fed up and frustrated.
