There's some international reporting that is so bizarre that it caught hold in the U.S.

because it sounds like something Trump would say.

And we've had a few questions about it.

The reporting says that Trump was speaking at the RNCC and claimed that Iran asked him to be the next Supreme Leader.

Further complicating things is that there's video clips of it.

So, let's take the reporting at face value for a second.

Trump really meant it when he said, quote, We'd like to make you the next Supreme Leader.

No, thank you.

I don't want it.

Of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.

As we say here, Iran's government is three governments in a trench coat.

The civil government, the military, and the theocratic side.

Iran's government is a Republican theocracy.

No, not Mississippi.

It combines Republican elements and theocratic elements.

I don't think that's the case.

Look, I'm fairly certain that if I asked Trump what Zakat was, he'd say it was a restaurant guide.

Just saying.

So, now that we've got that out of the way, I have to do something.

I don't think that's what Trump was actually saying.
