I don't use clips, so I have to listen to Trump speak and read what he said more than any person should ever have to.
Shortly before launching into the part that doesn't make sense, he said, quote,
They are negotiating, by the way.
They want to make a deal so badly, but they are afraid to say it because they figure they will be killed by their own people.
They are also afraid they will be killed by us.
There has never been a head of a country who wanted that job less than being the head of Iran.
So in context, I'm fairly certain Trump was actually telling a story about listening to signal intercepts, and he was saying he overheard somebody who was offered the job of Supreme Leader turn it down out of fear of U.S.
forces.
This also didn't happen.
I have to assume two things to say that, but I think they're safe assumptions.
I am pretty sure Iranian leadership didn't switch to English to help American intelligence listen in.
And I'm pretty sure the guy who constantly gets misunderstood in English doesn't speak Farsi.
it might be worth acknowledging that the President of the United States tells so many outlandish stories that are completely fictitious that it's pretty believable that he would claim Iran offered him the role of Supreme Leader.
Not that they did, but that he would say they did.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
Y'all have a good day.
Well, howdy there internet people, it's Belle again.
So today we're going to talk about how Trump has everything wrong about NATO.
Trump rambled about NATO because NATO countries didn't agree to support his elective actions.
His rhetoric has led to a flood of questions.
