So when it was really big on websites and blogs, you know, they were being censored because they were promoting people to develop and sustain eating disorders.
As they evolved from, you know, the web now more into Tumblr, Pinterest, there were blocks that were put on certain words, either Fitspiration or some of the quotes, right?
Like you mentioned, stronger, you know, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.
Things like that were banned.
Now on social media, when you even, you know, even if it's Google, if you Google Fitspiration or if you search on Instagram Fitspiration, part
Particularly Instagram, if you search for inspiration, there's a screen that comes up that says, are you sure that you want to engage with this type of content?
Are you sure you want to watch this?
Because research has shown that it has negative effects on your mental health and it makes you click a button to say, yes, I'm sure I want to see this.
And still it limits the kind of, you know, images that it shows you or the type of content that it shows you.
And more and more people are, you know, going away from using the hashtag fitspiration into fitness motivation to avoid such limits on visibility.
So it's really interesting.
packaged differently and now we see it in health ads.
We see it to, you know, even promote fitness, promote different brands, products, et cetera.
So it's very pervasive in what we're seeing on a daily basis, even if it's not labelled as inspiration.
And looking at the connection between vaccines, chook eggs and a dog from the 1950s.
