Jared Diamond out of the Wall Street Journal had that report this morning, and it's supposed to become official next week, and then it has to go through all the Major League Baseball owners and get approved.
So it feels like it's still a long way home, but it seems like that's what's going to happen.
So in the research we've done leading up to this, because we knew that Jose Feliciano has been in this thing since the beginning, we found out a lot about him.
And I'll tell you, Padres fans feel pretty split on this at the moment.
Now, there's a big distinction here.
here, Soren, because he is part of a group called Clear Lake Capital.
He's actually the leader of that group and the co-founder that owns at least portions of a bunch of different soccer teams, including Chelsea FC.
And I think where Padres fans' hesitations come in start with that.

And if it wouldn't have been for his passing, the Seidler family would still own this team.
So I think Padre fans are a little hesitant that it's part of a big conglomerate, a big group.
that nobody actually knows what that means.
The hope is that Jose Feliciano is going to treat this as a project of his and that he's not necessarily just going to run it on the margins because we can be very clear, the Seidlers lost money running the Padres.
Even though Petco Park was full all the time, they had to take out loans to try to cover for some of these contracts that they signed.
Like this wasn't a profitable endeavor for a while now.
So I talked to somebody who knows Chelsea football very, very well.
And from what that person said is Chelsea was heading in a really bad direction.
