The expectation for them is to, once again, learn our way of doing things, how we go about our business in the meeting room, walk through practice field, what that looks like.
And as soon as they pick that up, then they'll really be able to compete for what is their niche this year.
How can they provide value for this football team?
Is it special teams?
Is it competing for playing time on offense or defense?
That's really up to them.
But learning our way of life is first and foremost.
If it doesn't fit Ben's vision, are you willing to move on from certain guys?
Zay's a guy we've had here for over a year, and it's just one of those things when we're looking at the roster, where he's at, where we're at, it was time to part ways.
So appreciate everything that he contributed while he was here, and it opens up a roster spot and an opportunity to make this team.
Yeah, we were hopeful and just wasn't going that direction.
The trajectory was off, and so we decided to go a different direction.
I think for all of our defensive backs, it's a, it's one of the better situations that you could ask for.
Just the, I think the world of Al, um, we were very fortunate to get him back and, uh, he's a great teacher.
Um,
I think he's very systematic about the process with which we want to go about our business.
And so because of that, I think he's got some really good building blocks for young players if they trust him and they buy into his way of coaching that they're going to have success.
His track record says that.
And so I think Malik is a very sharp young man, and he's going to be able to embrace that coaching style with open arms.
I said it a couple weeks ago, you know, Coach Rochard and Coach Devan, they made some rounds this offseason just making sure we did due diligence on a number of players.
