You'd think they could step in and lay down the law here and be like, remember, we set up this system.

First of all, I love how at the beginning of these movies, there's always a flashback that gives you the backstory, right?

And kind of the emotional core of the film, which in the first one, it's all about Hanzo and Sub-Zero and Bi-Han and the rivalry between...

You know, going back centuries and the grudge and revenge and all of that.

And this time we get almost a Game of Thrones style little interlude where we are introduced to Kitana and we're introduced to Shao Kahn and we understand everything.

how the stakes are set up that if Earth loses one more tournament, Earth Realm, excuse me, then we will be invaded and we will be taken over also, which I also love that the Elder Gods, they're just like, we don't want to have unrestricted warfare.

We don't want this realm to invade that realm and enslave everyone.

So we've set up the system where you have to beat them 10 times in a row.

And then...

You can do whatever you want.

Why does it have to be consecutive?

I don't understand.

No, it has to be a kill streak uninterrupted.

So, yeah, but it's just like, you know, we want to set up some protections here because we don't want anyone just willy-nilly to invade and take over everyone else.

So it has to be 10 times in this tournament.

And then if you win that 10th time in a row, okay.
