Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Hi, everyone.
Chapter 2: What are the reactions to the 'Star Fox 64' remake announcement?
It's Amy Poehler, and I'm launching a new podcast called Good Hang. In preparation for that, I asked some of my friends to send in some videos and give me some advice. Just be yourself and the guests will come. Don't be the celebrity that this is their, like, sixth thing they're doing. I love two crime and cooking podcasts. Is there any way you could combine the two?
Well, everyone has an opinion and a podcast.
Chapter 3: What are the overall impressions of 'Mortal Kombat II'?
So join me for Good Hang. It's rough out there. We're just trying to lighten it up a little.
Hello and welcome into The Ringerverse, your Nexus feed for all things fandom. I am Ben Lindberg, Senior Editor for The Ringer and noob cybot of Button Mashed, joined by my original co-host, Jessica Scorpion Clemons. Hi, Jess. Get over here. Always wonderful.
That was a good one.
That was pretty good.
Thank you. Get over here. Get over here. I can only do it a couple of times. I think I'm not supposed to go that low in my register.
Don't wear out your voice.

Chapter 4: How does Karl Urban portray Johnny Cage in 'Mortal Kombat II'?
We have a lot of talking to do. Come here. Always wonderful to have you back here, my OG co-hosts. Friendship? Friendship? We're here to talk about Mortal Kombat 2 in theaters now, and this time actually featuring a Mortal Kombat tournament. How about that? Will we pronounce a flawless victory or will we, like Shao Kahn, declare it's official? You suck. You suck.
Or is it, you know, somewhere in between perfect and terrible? We will fill you in. And if you care about spoilers for a Mortal Kombat movie, don't worry, we will save them for the end and give you a warning. Briefly, before we get to this, Jess, you saw the Super Mario Galaxy movie, right? Yes, I did. And you are familiar with motion picture star Fox McCloud. I am.
Motion picture star Fox McCloud.
100%.
Yeah. Star of screen. And guess what?

Chapter 5: What are the spoiler-filled thoughts on specific plot points?
He's also a video game character. Did you know that? He's not just a blockbuster animated movie character, but... He's been in some video games and he's about to be in a new one.
And that is the talk of the video game internet this week because there was a surprise dropped Nintendo Direct, which is rare on Wednesday, where we learned, really confirmed because it uncharacteristically had already leaked that there was going to be a Fox McCloud game. And we saw it. We saw it in action and we know what it is. It is a remake of Star Fox 64.
What did you think of the announcement and the internet?
Chapter 6: Which 'Mortal Kombat' characters would we like to see on-screen?
I'm not... I'm not the biggest Fox McCloud. I didn't play Star Fox that much, but I know of Star Fox.
Chapter 7: How does 'Mortal Kombat' compare to 'Street Fighter' at the box office?
The most I play of all the characters is just in Smash, mainly. Of course. But I mean, the characters are cool as hell. I'm not going to say they're not. The story, I think, is also really fun. And so I was like, oh, this sounds like a really great thing. It's funny because you were the first person that came to mind. I was like, oh, I bet Ben's like, Going crazy for this.
I was initially, and then the more I saw of it, the lower and lower my enthusiasm got.
Wait, why?
A couple reasons. First, I was hoping there might be a brand new Star Fox game, just because this game, it's already been remade once, and it's just this... franchise has been so stagnant. There just hasn't really been a new Star Fox game or a good new Star Fox game, at least a combat game, flight combat. And so I hoped when I saw the leaks, we might get something brand new.
And believe me, I love me some Star Fox 64 and Star I'm all for 4K Star Fox 64, but a little less excited than I would have been for an all new adventure. And then also there was a little bit of original Sonic in the trailer when I saw these characters, because somehow they just sort of subtracted all the aura that Star Fox of the film has. Yeah.
And I don't know about these new sort of photorealistic Star Fox designs. It's this doesn't even make any sense because Star Fox is a fur covered creature. And yet somehow he has a neck beard in this new model. It's like they just removed all the Riz from the Glenn Powell wisecracking fox that we just saw.
Where are you learning these words from? You have never used these words before. Aura and Riz.

Chapter 8: What themes are explored in the character dynamics of 'Mortal Kombat II'?
Yeah.
Yeah, we haven't potted it in a while.
Clearly, you have picked up some new lingo. Okay, so I get the irritation with that. I understand the frustration with that. Do you think it's more because, I mean, they've already been planning this for a minute, but do you think it aligns with the new Galaxy movie that just came out? Oh, totally. Just for all the new heads. All the new heads. Oh, my God. Now I sound old. For all the new kids.
The new kids that have the Switch 2. Just so they can be like, oh, yeah, I never got to play Star Fox. I also think that is still fun for and maybe I'm thinking I'm coming into the pod very sympathetic and very sweet today because I'm like, yeah, I mean that I would kind of want my nephew or my child to relive the Star Fox that I got. I mean, it would suck for me as a grown person playing it.
I'd be like, I already played this.
I already saw this. Yeah. Yeah. I could introduce my daughter to the wonders of Star Fox and she can play this for the first time. So, yeah, I'm going to play it. I'm going to get it. We'll probably podcast about it. It's coming June 25th.
How much is it going to be, you think?
Yeah, well, that's the thing. Since this is sort of a remake, you might hope that this would be deeply discounted. And, you know, it's 50 bucks digital and 60 physical.
That's $20 less than what it usually is. What did I buy? I just bought Picopia for like $79.
