There's no one better than Karl Urban if you need someone just to be nursing a drink, sadly, at a bar.

The thing is, though, parts of this still didn't really work for me.

Where I felt like when he was doing the more wisecracking catchphrases, pop culture references, like...

Weirdly, low energy, I thought, kind of like for the reasons that we were talking about, like he's supposed to be.

He's, you know, run down, beaten down by the world and everything.

But then, like, I didn't really sense the enthusiasm, the energy.

Also, the accent work wasn't working for me at all.

yeah, I share your respect and affection for Carl, but I still feel like this was not quite the right fit for him.

And yeah, the accent just kind of took me out of it, which, you know, I don't know that you need to get an American to be an American, but in this particular case, and like, look, maybe it's because we're watching the boys at the same time as we're watching.

anyway Carl's doing the best he can and and look his accent on the boys is inconsistent a variable but iconic right but also like kind of famously I mean it's like the deep says in season four I can barely understand you your accents insane you

It's kind of like a meta line, because what is that?

It's kind of Cockney, but also kind of Kiwi.

And it's just this weird amalgamation of his actual accent and what he thinks a London accent would be.

It's kind of like Simon Pegg's American accent on The Boys in this one, where you can just kind of tell.

If you had to cast someone from The Boys, maybe Jensen Ackles could do this.
