this cast just like really kind of works well together and they're just not lingering too long on any one character is the thing so it's just constantly throwing a different fight a different character a different setting some of which yes are pretty impractical some of which are some you know generic CGI I guess could have maybe been

And sometimes it's explicitly framed that way, where you have kind of this almost 2D fight scene where you have one fighter on one side, like everything but the health bar, basically.

And sometimes that can be, you know, like some bad from the era of the video game adaptation curse, like

If you have the Doom movie and, oh, well, it's a Doom movie, so we have to have some first person shooting scenes.

And sometimes it's just like two one to one.

But here it just it works for me.

And yeah, there are shout outs and Easter eggs and everything and fan service, but it's service to me.

So I'm fine.

And I'm not even like a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan necessarily.

Like, you know, people know.

I'm a button masher when it comes to fighting games.

I'm not an expert in the series.

And so if you're thinking, and I saw some reviewers say, like, you have to be intimately familiar with Mortal Kombat to understand.

Sure, you're going to miss some stuff if you're not, but you can completely go into this thing not knowing much about the characters or the lore.
