And this is as he's making some big adjustments.
So I think you have to be happy with the package that you're getting from Okamoto.
And it does ease some questions elsewhere.
It means that Addison Barger has one less thing to worry about because they got third base covered.
So when he's rehabbing, he can focus on right field and on his offensive game.
The more answers you have in various places in your team, that can free up others to focus on what they need to focus on.
And it's only a good thing, even for the front office.
If the Blue Jays are looking to augment this team ahead of the trade deadline, which they still have work to do before they get to that point.
But if that's the case, you don't have to worry about third base because he's been handling that pretty well.
So it seems like that's one area they don't have to stress too much about.
right now so i'm curious how you're thinking about this impending decision for the blue jays yeah that's exactly what he did he just listed he just listed basically the categories that they consider and then gave us no answer which of course why would there be an answer given to you or me or the players themselves who i'm sure would love to know or the fans who are also interested by this and the reality is they just don't have to make a decision
yet um so they won't make a decision until they have to make a decision that's kind of how baseball goes whether it's contract options or opening day rosters always come down to that final day this will be the same thing you just wait until you have to make that call so that's part one part two for me is we all know it's such a demanding position it's physically i just wonder could someone like tyler heidemann maybe need a breather on the injured list for 10 days um
So that would be my question if I was if I was involved in this would just be, hey, you know, how are you feeling?
And could you use a breather?
And I don't know what you think about that, but that would be one way to make sure that you still have the combination of depth and performance for for everyone involved.
I would guess, as we sit here in early June, that they would take the long view and option Valenzuela and keep Heinemann for a couple days a week.
You know, because the alternative is you have Valenzuela playing a couple times a week, which that could be fine.
Probably something to be said for keeping his back going.
