If anything, he's been steadier, better defensively than I expected, and maybe had a little bit more ups and downs offensively.
So the whole season's been a little...
A little bit odd.
I don't think it's been bad by any means.
I think at times the offense has underwhelmed a little, but at the same time acknowledging that he has double the home runs of any other Blue Jay on the roster.
So it's been weird, and the highs have been a little higher than expected maybe, and the lows have been a little lower than expected.
I think everyone's hoping that it steadies out a little bit, and if he's β
A slightly above average hitter who leaves the yard every once in a while, I think they'd be pretty happy with that.
He just looks consistent, and it looks like he kind of knows what he has coming out.
I felt like previously with him, you had to wait a couple pitches to see, is that slider working today?
Does he have his full fastball, both in terms of velocity and command of it?
And it feels like a couple times in a row now, he's come out.
Even if it's not his best stuff, the floor of his stuff, to use floor again, seems a little bit higher.
It feels like the baseline is better.
And he's had great stuff the whole time.
I think we all know that.
And it's just now when it isn't 100%, it feels like it's 85% or 90% instead of a day where all of a sudden, let's say he doesn't have his fastball.
There were a couple days earlier this year where he just could not
throw a fastball for a strike.
And then he's trying to create a new game plan to getting people out on the fly.
