In fact, the breakaway civilization concept is not a new one either.

I mean, this could have been going on for a long, long time.
I wouldn't... I mean, I certainly would include...
some sort of otherworldly craft as potentially one of the explanations for what that thing is beneath the ground at the labyrinth.
And stick it underground for some reason.
