And he had sang, I think, Son of a Sinner.
But it hadn't popped yet.
He'd just written it.
In Huntsville, Alabama.
No one had heard it yet, and then he said to me, he was like, I'm embarrassed, I want to come out on tour with you, and if you give me a week of being on the road with you, I can do better, I promise.
And I was like, dude, I was like, of course, you can absolutely do that.
And then within the year, between festivals, he became the most famous man alive, and I held him to it.
And he came out and he did... A week.
A week with us.
He flew his own private jet.
He brought his own tour bus.
He brought his own people.
We paid him nothing.
And my wife, at the end of the trip, very graciously said, we need to get him something.
And I was like, he said free, Leanne.
Just shut your mouth.
He said free.
And then Leanne bought him a very nice watch.
And he fell apart crying.
Oh, he did?
