And there are two levels of grants.
Phase one grants are $500,000 to $750,000.
a thousand over nine months and phase two scales it to six to 15 million over three years.
Applications are due April 28th, 2026.

There's an information webinar also on March 26th.
The program explicitly forces collaboration across government labs, academia, and industry.
No single institution can claim a grant alone.
And it's a structured design choice that treats AI problem solving as a commons rather than a proprietary capability.
