Absolutely.
I think that if I were hiring somebody, I would be doing it based on skill and not not on degree necessarily.
I do think that we need to be honest with how the different ways that people get jobs works.
I think you should always be working on your portfolio.
I think you should do as I say and not as I do and share what you're building all the time on LinkedIn, which I think is still the best place for like what used to be, I think, called the good old boys networks, which I think probably still exists.
But make your own good old boys network and good old girls network where you are showing your expertise on a regular basis.
And giving people an opportunity to reach across and say, hey, actually, I'd love to hear more about that.
And then you've got a relationship where somebody on the inside potentially says, hey, this is great.
We would love to bring you in for this interview.
We'd love to include you in the pool.
The place where your degree matters is if you are submitting a resume that needs to include your degree.
Sure.
And then you're trying to get out of that pool.
So I just think if we're telling people like that's a decision you want to make.
I think that the personally, I think that like getting a four year degree to that, like getting an associate's degree from community college, going to a state school or something so that you come out without any debt.
I think a degree is a good idea sometimes, but I also, so, uh, when I was training in Salesforce, there were a couple stories of people's kids who, uh, like there were, they were old Salesforce people and their kids started to do Salesforce at 16 because it was like, I'd like a job.
Well, okay.
Uh, here's a job that could pay you 40,000 a year part-time, right?
