So I think sometimes educators get caught up on social media or in the media listening to every colleague and other school's sort of story.
and sometimes it creates their own anxiety or own worry but for our school we make sure that we are really clear about focusing on ourselves so we communicate to staff if you hear it from elsewhere don't worry about it we will back you 100% we will make sure that you are supported and that means that we'll resource PLD we'll make sure that we look after the staff that we have on site to ensure that we're putting our best foot forward for the kids in front of us
Yeah, and it's also something that as a school, education is filled with acronyms.
So making sure that we're really clear with our parents and unpacking those things when we do use jargon or acronyms that are education-based so that they're really clear around what we're doing and how we're doing it.
So thanks for explaining what PLD is.
Absolutely, and I think my degree I did in teaching was just that.
I'm now, you know, leading 1,100 kids, 100-plus staff, and over 2,000 parents, so 95% of my job now is managing people.
And so communication is essential to that.
We will communicate directly with the families so they know what our school's doing and therefore they feel comfortable.
And if they've got questions, you know, every newsletter I put out, I've got my email address on there.
They can make a time, they can email me, they can, you know, I'm readily available to ensure that they can ask those questions because it's important that they hear it from the school and not from the school down the road or on Facebook or any other social media platform they might be reading into.
Yeah, so schools are welcoming places.
Reach out to the school.
Reach out to the principal.
Reach out to the teacher.
If you're not sure how to get in touch with the principal, go through the office.
But ultimately, we want you to feel comfortable that you're in a school that feels your child is the centre and we want them to be successful.
It's the one shared area.
We both
we're a partnership, we want the child to be successful in the environment.
