David, how we doing, man?
Sun is shining so much that we got our first dome open game of the season yesterday, David, which is one of the latest it's happened.
The latest in at least seven or eight years.
But yeah, the latest I could find.
So very happy that that's the case on your end as well.
David, want to talk a little bit of Jays for you before we go around baseball.
Now, this is going back to April a little bit, but I know you had a great chat with Nathan Lucas about his journey to the majors.
He returned last night off the aisle, got on base four times.
How was your chat with him back in April?
And what can you tell us about where his mentality and headspace is given his long journey to get to this everyday major league role?
Yeah, there was a great note in that piece with him, and he didn't give too much away, but when you guys talked about the playoff bonus pool split, which, by the way, this is not from Nathan, but the reporting out there is the Jays had $31 million to split because of making the World Series and the way bonus pools work, which worked out to about $354,000 per share.
So well over his minor league salary there, and a good little payoff for a guy still making the minimum, David.
Yeah, and nine years of that for him before he finally cracked the majors.
Cleveland organization, Tampa Bay organization, minor league free agent to the Blue Jays.
So glad he stuck with it.
Nice to see him back last night.
David, someone else you spoke to, and this is again going back, but he just came up in our prior segment because I was talking to Sean Keyes, who plays for the New Hampshire Fishercats.
You spoke to Arjun Namala for a piece in April about his swing.
Now, since then, he's gotten the bump to AA, so he got that nice David Lorela rub and got the bump.
When you talk to a player that young and he's so toolsy and the swing has so much to be interested in it, what are you looking for?
