name drop, excuse me, by John Schneider recently.
And with cause, he's looked much better in his second goal round in AAA.
He's got an ERA of 3.6 through 25 innings.
He's made six starts.
He's averaging almost 10 strikeouts per nine.
And perhaps most impressively, he hasn't given up a homer, which was a bit of a problem for him last year.
And he stretched out pretty well too, I'll point out.
He threw upwards of 70 pitches in each of his last two starts.
He could conceivably go through five innings if need be.
And he actually tied his season high with six strikeouts his last time out against Lehigh Valley.
I know he's scheduled to start tonight for Buffalo, but I don't think that's a problem per se.
If he pitches well tonight and the Jays decide to give him a shot the next time around, he'd just be on six days rest, I want to say, when Miles' turn or that kind of iffy spot in the rotation comes up again.
So, yeah, I just don't think that this is a sustainable model over the current kind of scheduling realities that they're contending with.
So for my part, you know, I guess you send out Miles –
on Saturday against Detroit and try to piece it together.
But I just don't think you can ask your bullpen to be every five days lining up to throw out four, five, six guys when they're going to be needed in the other games as well.
So for me, I think it's incumbent upon them to call up a traditional starter.
Aesthetic nightmare baseball.
I want to interrupt you.
It's just so funny that, like, back in March, we were talking about, oh, are the Jays going to run with a six man?
