The National Park Service says about 1.5 million people are expected to visit D.C.
over the next four weeks.
They'll be able to walk around the entire tidal basin, but the seawall between the Jefferson and FDR memorials remains closed for a second season.
And that's not only because of the new seawall construction, but to protect the 351 new cherry trees planted in that area.
158 trees were taken down as part of the renovation here.
Now, as for the people we're seeing and speaking to, it's a great mix of locals and tourists taking this all in.
This is the first time I've been in quite some time.
Ideally, the cherry trees will remain at or near peak bloom for a few more days or longer.
And yes, you will not be alone down here.
