So like he was kind of a role model and I'm pretty sure when I was like five years old, I sat in a, in a line at a mall for about two hours, uh, and him and, uh, Hank and, uh, Yager were signing autographs at a mall in Long Island.
And, uh,
I was so excited.
I had my Rangers jersey on, and I went up to get my picture signed, and I didn't say a word.
I froze.
So maybe if I ever have an opportunity to say something to him, I won't freeze up.
But he was my guy growing up.
I think sometimes goaltending is a byproduct of your team, right?
Like with what you're seeing and stuff.
But I mean, I think a big thing is with what I've learned over the years and stuff is sometimes you can't always like look at the numbers of what goalies are doing, right?
I think goaltending.
That's all people do.
Well, yeah, I think goaltending should be more measured by what do you do in certain situations, right?
Obviously, it'd be great to win every game and never give up a goal.
I'd be able to retire at 40 if I did that.
But what do I do in a game when...
It's tied at five five and you don't have your a stuff like are you able to make that save or make that play and you know vice versa so I think you know ultimately in the end like goaltending should be maybe more defined by the wins and losses and what you do in certain moments then.
than exactly you know did you get a shot at every game because like I said earlier this league is a fun way of humbling you you know I give the Maple Leafs credit like in one of the games I played in like they kind of humbled me like I didn't play great and our team found a way to win and you know
I made enough stops that night to get it done.
And then there's going to be other games when it's 0-0 in overtime.
