But what I've noticed is like, there's really no escaping that conversation for Kyle, right?
And I think, or I see that now looking back, like as a kid, like he would be on the sidelines while I was competing, sitting with all the adults.
And what are adults doing?
They're like, they have a very honest observation.
Like, oh, well, Brent's not a good runner, you know, or Brent's like, and he's observing, he's hearing, he's listening.
And then he would be there.
Like, we've got photos of him sitting behind.
I swam growing up and there's photos of Kyle sitting behind the block while I was swimming.
right?
He's watching, he's watching, he's watching, he's learning and he's thinking.
And so then when it comes time, when I'm in competition with him now that he goes, well, Hey, just like stay in it, right.
Or try harder.
And so those lessons start to come out, but now he's also got 15 years of practical experience of doing it with me.
We've unintentionally allowed Kyle to
the unique experience of being around all the adults or getting stuck in conversations that maybe you and I would have just walked away from that.
We would have said, hey, Dwayne, great to meet you.
I got to go over there and talk to my wife.
I'll talk to you later tonight.
And Kyle just stays there with you in the corner.
And so those observations and his ability to just listen, if the room gets loud, it's also hard to hear Kyle.
