And so I gave up smoking and drinking.
I went to my first meeting that Monday.
Graduated from Saturday.
Mother's Day was Sunday.

And of course, I have the rule book.
And so this woman said, let's go grab dinner after the meeting.
And I told her my story.
And she looked up and she said...

I need you to stop drinking, using food to comfort yourself, and stop involving yourself in all of your family's problems and issues."
I was like, shit.
I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands.
And then that was it.
Then I worked the AA program and went to meetings all the time for about a year and a half.
And was also working on that stuff in therapy and have been sober since.
