What's your question for these guys at 412-928-9370?
And now I've seen this reaction a bunch of times on social media and talking to some people.
At first, they hated it.
Then they looked around at other candidates and realized, is there any fan base besides the Giants where the fans are jumping for joy?
Was this a great cycle of coaches?
Hmm, maybe not.
Then they think to themselves, I'm starting to warm up to this.
This guy used to shop at Giant Eagle.
He grew up in Greenfield.
He likes Will Howard.
Are you starting to warm up to this?
Have you softened a bit on McCarthy?
Where do you stand as he's about to reintroduce himself to the city he grew up in?
No, at least not compared to the last couple years where, you know, Ben Johnson.
Ben Johnson was so ascendant that he actually was one of the rare assistants who had never been a head coach who was in position to turn teams down, and he did with the commanders a year before and was like, no, I'm just going to stay up in my cushy job running this potent Lions offense and wait for the right spot.
And it seems like he found that in Chicago.
But, yeah, I mean, the thing that we just don't know what a lot of these candidates β
unless you're sitting at the proverbial table with the interviewers or, I guess, a literal table in this sense.
But, yeah, it sure doesn't seem like the NFL is too into the McVeigh lieutenants or some of these other guys who are itching for their first chance to run their own team.
Well, the Cardinals and Browns, those are two jobs that they might be the jobs in this cycle that some of these assistants are like, eh, maybe I'll wait a year.
