So the image in the middle, the 1998 image.
Let's address this.
This was a purposeful mischaracterization of the face.
It was so terrible and did not represent the actual feature well enough that NASA Administrator Dan Golden told the imaging team to go back and do it again.
Because this is BS.
And they did.
And they went back and re-imaged it, and we got better, more accurate representations of the face.
Like, doesn't that mean... It means they were trying to make it seem less like a face by taking... You can see the angle is not right over top of it.
They did manipulate it somewhat.
And what they released originally in 1998 was...
was such a bad representation of the face, and even NASA knew it.
Dan Golden, NASA administrator at the time, told the imaging team to go back and do it again, and they did.
So then we got better representations of the face.
Yeah, and that's fair.
Yeah.
That's fair.
There's obviously a lot of weird stuff going on with this.
Why can't NASA just simply be straight with us?
Right.
It's a very good question.
