He analyzed it with fractals.
And it basically works like this.
if it's a natural landform and has a higher fractal ratio, okay, because we see fractals in nature all over the place.
And he works in the aerospace industry and he analyzes satellite images all the time.
He writes software all the time.
So they use this in defense to identify, let's say, a military bunker
from trees to identify artificial man-made objects very easily from trees.
So at a glance, software can identify
the differences between the two.
If it is a low fractal, then it's like, oh, we have an image here, Ryan, that will show, just go back one for the terrestrial.
So here's like a base and you can see an airplane.
And on the left is the image and on the right is the fractal analysis.
So you can see the bright spots light up with the stuff that is not natural.
The airplane being the most obvious thing here, right?
And the road leading up there, all right?
So he ran this on Mars.
And after running it on Mars, Ryan, next slide, the face lit up.
So the fractal analysis of this entire area indicates that this is an anomaly.
The software thinks it's also different.
Now, the next question is, is there any other precedent for this crazy idea of
