standing against a man you when he's had to just sit and defend I do hold my hands up that sometimes he does get caught wrong side but as I said I think that's over the top in terms of getting a new contract absolutely I mean his numbers as I've said goals and assists are unbelievable
And when I think about a captain, the captain's changed.
The captain isn't somebody that just shouts and balls all the time.
The captain's somebody that makes himself available every week, that's never in the papers for doing anything that he shouldn't.
He's a proper role model, and he's been in the top three Rangers players every season for the last 11 years.
You can't tell me he's never been in the top three.
Every year he is.
so that's the praise that I give the guy and yeah he's no one as much as what other people have wanted but this has been the worst Rangers team for a decade he's been playing with the worst players and he's been one of the best out of that bunch so I wouldn't be judging that but definitely a new contract it might be something to do with the fact that because he's a captain he's probably one of the highest earners maybe they don't want to be paying that type of money at that age for something that's going to play maybe start half the games but I mean look at Sterling Sterling's playing ahead of him he's injury prone as well so you would need him
it's not the league you play in that decides how good your team is it's the boys you train with day in day out and that's what carries Celtic over the line year after year and it's going to do it again this year I believe If you finish third in the league you've still got to come on and say that
Yeah, obviously it's exciting, first year back in the Premier League, we've now got top six football, now we're in, get looking forward to our semi-final at Hampden, but listen, nobody remembers people are in the semi-final, you want to get to the final and that's got to be our objective coming Saturday at half past twelve, got to go out there, play our game plan, play with confidence and
fingers crossed we can get through to the final but we know it's going to be a difficult game Dunfermline have been on good form of late but so have we barring last weekend so we've got to scrub that dust ourselves down and go again come Saturday Have you been sorry have you played in the Scottish Cup final?
Yeah, I lost it with Dundee United against St Johnson many years ago, yeah.
So it'd be nice to get back.
Yeah, there's nothing better as a player when you go to Hampden National Stadium, you're on the bus, you see the fans cheering,
You're driving under the stadium, going to the game.
You know it's a big game.
Everybody's happy before the game, but you want to make sure your fans are happy going home after that, that's for sure.
I think you've got to take the managers have got to take a lot of credit because right at the very start it was we were going into every game to go and win we were only just going to or we're happy to be back in the Premier League we're going to sit back try and get a point here or a point there
He's made the team and the changing room believe that going into every game we can beat anybody on a day and we've seen over the course of the season we've managed to do that.
That's why we're in the top six position.
