I think England is unfairly judged after some of those laws.
Unfairly judged if people were to do their homework and find out where is the start point of all these teams.
And with every year, every decade that goes by, the differences in the competition get even bigger.
So last year's Ashes Series in particular, where we got close, mate, it's astonishing.
It's astonishing.
I've got a bit of a formula in my head based on a young kid who's 10 who turns up for training 20 minutes before and knocks about with a ball in his hand 20 minutes before.
And then after training's finished, he might knock about for another 10, 15 minutes with a ball in his hand again after training, which you do over here because the weather's nice.
It's a cliche, but it is true.
The weather's nice.
So I took my lads, both my young boys training, whether it's soccer or rugby league, and they would get out the car as soon as the spotlights had turned on.
okay train and get back in the car again straight after because it was too cold it's too cold and in winter when they're coming home from school they're eating fish and chips not because it's a bad diet because they're going to get some energy back into their body because they've got to go training soon i didn't take them down the fish market and feed them seafood or salads we give them jam sandwiches and fish and chips because that's what you're going to do over there um
And this formula I've got in my head, when that kid's 20, I reckon the Australian kid or the kid that's grown up in Australia or New Zealand has got about 400 hours more time, game time, with the ball in his hands.
And I'm being really conservative with my formula.
It adds up.
400 hours.
If you're an airline pilot, you're the best airline pilot in the world if you've got 400 hours more than your competition.
You know, you go read some literature on 10,000 hours, what makes you world class.
You know, 10,000 hours doing more than...
Yeah, 400 hours more than your competitors.
So the start point of the British kid, the English kid, and the fact that we still get close.
