Kevin Backer said at the Oireachtas Committee yesterday that there needs to be one rule for everybody in the organisation, although he had discussed it with the board.

How do you respond to that?

We put that point to RTE and they said that Kevin Backers has met Catherine Bailey a number of times and is more than happy to do so again.

We also asked about whether RTE has been in touch with Catherine about her entitlements following Sean's death last year.

RTE said it has had frequent engagements with Catherine with respect to her entitlements

under RT's group life scheme.

This is a scheme for all employees.

It's equivalent to two and a half times your annual salary and Sean's pension lump sum payment.

Catherine does want to meet Kevin Backhurst.

She says she's found the attention on the situation this week quite difficult, as we'll hear.

I suppose this week we've seen we've seen your name, we've seen Sean's name mentioned.

I mean, it's quite personal information that's been put into the public domain.

And I know from talking to you, you're quite a private person.

How have you found that whole process this week?

with RTE from 2010 until his untimely death in 2025.

As already mentioned, we've engaged with Catherine Bailey frequently since then with respect to her entitlements under RTE's group life scheme for all employees and Sean's pension payment and we remain available to her.
